Slovakia is a frequent destination for Czech drivers, many of whom travel there by car. The easiest route is usually via the motorway, so many Czech motorists are curious about how Slovakia will price its highway vignettes in 2026. This article answers that question — and several others.
After a price increase for the current year, the cost of highway vignettes in Slovakia for 2026 will remain unchanged.
The prices for Slovakia’s highway vignettes in 2026 remain at the same level as this year. This means that the annual vignette for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons will now cost €90 (approx. CZK 2,200). Until this year, it was €60, about CZK 1,450. For many Czech drivers, a year-long vignette may no longer be a good deal.
It’s important to note that Slovakia offers two types of annual vignettes: one valid from December 1 of the preceding year to January 31 of the following year, and a 365-day vignette, valid for one full year from the chosen start date. Both options cost the same.
There is also a 30-day vignette, priced at €17.10 (roughly CZK 430). Another option is a 10-day vignette for €10.80 (about CZK 260). The shortest available option is the 1-day vignette, costing €8.10 (CZK 200).
| Annual vignette | Monthly (30-day) vignette | 10-day vignette | 1-day vignette |
|---|---|---|---|
| €90 | €17.10 | €10.80 | €8.10 |
Motorcycles in Slovakia are exempt from highway tolls. However, trailers or caravans must pay if the combined vehicle weight exceeds 3.5 tons. The vignette prices in such cases are the same as for passenger cars under 3.5 tons.
In contrast, Czech drivers with disability cards (ZTP and ZTP/P) are not exempt from highway tolls in Slovakia.
Slovak highway vignettes are electronic. They can be purchased online via the official website eznamka.sk. There, you choose the vehicle type, validity period of the electronic vignette, enter your email address, license plate number, and desired start date. Online payments via Apple Pay and Google Pay are supported.
You can also buy the vignette at a sales point — typically at petrol stations in Slovakia, self-service points near border crossings, or in selected shops in regional cities. These locations are marked with the “eznámka” logo.
Tolls apply to Slovakia’s network of motorways and expressways. This includes approximately 622 kilometers of motorways (D1, D2, D3, D4) and express roads (R1, R2, R4, R6), all clearly marked with specific traffic signs.
