Riddara RD6: Czech prices of Chinese Amarok

The expansion of Chinese brands into the Czech market shows no sign of stopping. Manufacturers from the Middle Kingdom are gradually filling all vehicle segments, from city cars to SUVs and commercial vehicles. The latest addition to the latter category is Riddara, a brand that is part of the Geely group, just like Volvo or Lotus. Riddara is now offering its RD6 model on the Czech market — a pick-up truck slightly smaller than the Volkswagen Amarok, available exclusively with electric drive.

Prices in the Czech Republic start at CZK 1,324,950 (CZK 1,095,000 excluding VAT) for the Economic 2WD version, which features a permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 200 kW and a lithium iron phosphate battery (LFP) with a capacity of 63 kWh, providing a WLTP range of up to 335 km.

So, while the base price isn’t exactly low — there are cheaper pickups out there — the RD6 makes up for it with solid standard equipment. At no extra cost, you get a digital instrument cluster with a 10.2″ display, 12.3″ infotainment system, LED front headlights, air conditioning, cruise control, parking sensors with a camera, and aluminium roof racks.

If you want all-wheel drive, you’ll need the Comfort 4WD version, which combines 315 kW of power with an NMC battery of 73 kWh for a WLTP range of up to 368 km. This trim also adds a larger 14.6″ infotainment screen, wireless smartphone charger, adaptive LED headlights, side steps, dual-zone automatic climate control, 360° camera system, adaptive cruise control, and an electrically adjustable driver’s seat.

About the Riddara brand

Riddara presents itself as an electric vehicle brand for outdoor and adventure-oriented lifestyles, designed not only for the modern generation. It seeks to offer a new perspective on pickup trucks, aiming to meet both family and work needs. In China, it is known as Radar, but locally it’s marketed as Riddara.

The Riddara RD6 is a four-door pickup measuring 5,260 mm in length, with seating for five and a wheelbase of 3,120 mm, making it slightly smaller than the well-known VW Amarok (5,350 mm long).

Despite being fully electric, it strives to be a reliable workhorse — though unlike typical pickups, it doesn’t use a solid rear axle but instead features multi-link rear suspension. Depending on the version, the Riddara RD6 can carry up to 1,030 kg and tow a trailer weighing up to 3 tons. In addition to the rear bed, it also offers a front storage compartment with a capacity of 70 litres.
